Precise operating instruments manufactured on SW machines or components for endoscopic diagnostic devices are supporting those trends. Plastic and metal implants – whether they are bone screws, knee and hip joints or bone plates milled from solid metal – always meet the strict requirements of the industry. Automotive manufacturers are relying on large-format structural components made of aluminum in new vehicle concepts – lower weight means a greater range. However, machining parts for electric or hybrid vehicles is more complex than one would think. That makes it exactly the kind of challenge that we as Technology People love and can reliably solve.
SW adapted the BA W08-12 for this reason. The machine can receive large structural components with a machining length of up to 1500 mm and enough freedom of movement to accomodate extended dimensions. With linear motors it reaches first-class acceleration rates (2G/120m/min) and high-speed machining. Most importantly, it combines productivity with process reliability.
